Rural Health Corporation of Northeastern Pennsylvania is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to serving the healthcare needs of individuals and families. Our focus is on prevention – treating patients before illness develops. This involves a network of primary and secondary care augmented by patient education and counseling services. We have offices located throughout Luzerne and Wyoming Counties. Care is available to anyone requesting it, regardless of income.
RHC is governed by a voluntary, non-paid Board of Directors selected from the areas served by the health centers. They ensure that the organization remains responsive to the needs of our patients. They are responsible for establishing policies and overseeing the operations of RHC.
RHC is funded in part by a grant from the Public Health Service of the US Department of Health and Human Services. This enables us to serve all persons regardless of payment source, to control fees and to provide other comprehensive supplemental services. Fees are charged for all of our services. Medicare, Medicaid, most commercial insurances, as well as direct patient payment are accepted as reimbursement for care. In addition we have a sliding fee program, based on income and family size, that gives a discount to those who qualify.
Patients are required to pay for non-covered services, insurance deductibles and co-pays at the time of each visit. In addition to cash; we accept American Express, Discover, Master Card and Visa.
By working together, we can continue to provide you and your family with the best care at the lowest possible price.
Transportation on a limited scheduled basis is available free of charge, when no other means of transportation is available, to registered patients only, between their homes and the offices in Noxen, Falls, Shickshinny, Freeland and Nuremberg. Patients in need of transportation must request the service when the appointment is made. Seating is limited, therefore we request that only the patient make use of this service.
